Afternoon Tea With Mister & Me

Won't you please join Mister and me for a spot of tea?

Mister lifted his paw when he heard Dr. Gollum's footsteps. In dog-speak, I'm just not sure what that means--but he seems to be saying, "Hark! Something humanish this way comes!"

Now he's relaxed, waiting for his humans to drink tea...

...and nibble the petit fours.

A view of three teacups.

I found the dog cookies at Publix --Mister wants to be their spokes-dog, but his conditions are: Must pay in biscuits and must work from home.

Mister says come back and see us soon. :-)

Did you see my e-mail about the silver plate Yorkie salt & pepper shakers at Horchow's yet? They're so cute & would look so amazing on your tablescapes. I sent the link...

  7. Oh Gollum...I love the way you used mismatched teacups! I have a friend who collects antique teacups and part of the fun of having tea at her house is choosing your teacup and saucer from her wonderful collection. The goodies look yummy, too. I'm going to Publix tomorrow to look for the dog cookie. My grandson would love that! Have a wonderful evening...Debbie

  17. This is beautiful! I love it all.

Wonder if there is a Missouri equivalent of Publix. Is it similar to Whole Foods?

I've often wondered what dogs are saying, with their body language. There must be a site somewhere! Now you have me googling dog language!

  18. I'm happy to see that Mister had his own cookie for your tea party. Now Sophie is going to demand equal treatment.
I found some clotted cream and need to bake my scones. Some petit fours sound like a great idea too.

  24. very cute, mister does live the good life~ i myself am getting a hankering for petite fours... pretty cups and spoons, you certainly do live the beautiful southern feminine life~ which for the record, is so not my slovenly western lifestyle! i can imagine tea with my dog tucker would be a trip to er with shattered glass and slit wrists imminently...

  25. My wonderful hubby heard me muttering about teas and tea settings and he got me the creamer and sugar bowl for my christmas dishes (Nikko Happy Holidays) for Christmas (one of the items he got)! When I opened it he said, "I heard you talking about tea and dishes, and even though you don't drink coffee or tea... (yet) it sounded like something you might 'need'"

    Yes he is a keeper!

That little monster looked spoiled in the very first photo you ever shared of him....and as time went on I didn't think it was possible to look any more spoiled than he did in the last one....WELL....CONGRATULATIONS GOLLUM.....he is adorable and deserves all the spoiled he shows us!
I hope you will have a happy new year friend. I am so excited for 2009...it is all up hill for me from here...I have started my resolutions already....the only good thing that has happened to me in 2008...was that it brought me friends like you....and my blog land babes...and for that I will forever be grateful!

  33. Thank you Gollum for the invitation. The company was whitty & Oh so cute the little fellow is. Love your tea cups. I have made the decision to start collecting Tea cups and saucers. I do not consider myself a collector of any particular thing just a little of this and that. This is a good time to start, don't you think? I now have 3 sets. To be pictured on my blog at a later date. What will you collect in 2009?

  40. GG~ It appears that "Mister" has the same good, elegant manners as our "Miss Belle", but then again, one "EXPECTS" that of a "suthen' Belle" & not necessarily of a "guy dog" ~~~ soooo, I applaud his "good upbringing", my friend!!! (Yes, "ya dun gooood"!!!)~~~ Biggest smiles, Linda...BTW, Would you plz "reconsider" the posting of such glorious-looking yummies?!?!? It will be SOOO DIFFICULT to go to sleep now (at least without THINKING/DREAMING of them! Oh, they looked soooo goooood!!!)~~~

  42. I'm so late getting here. I'm sure the petit fours are all gone! What a polite Mister you have. My dog would have been all over that table, grabbing cookies and breaking those pretty tea cups. I think Mister would do a great job as a spokes dog, since he's so polite for photographing. laurie
