We're cooking gumbo (and the kitchen is filled with Gumbo Ya-Ya--"everyone talking at once"), but I wanted to stop a moment and share this Christmas Eve sunset.
The sky is a gift, because it rained and rained all day, with whipping winds. And now, the farm is washed in clear, pear-colored light.
My mother says she sees little angels, all of them stomping on the clouds, chasing them away.
A few minutes later, the quality of light deepens to peachy gold.
