A Monday Mosaic

Here are random pictures that were collecting dust at Flickr. My dish collection dates back to the 70s. While other girls were buying Bonnie Bell lip glossers, I was buying egg cups. The picture with the green plaid draperies is from our former house (but I brought the draperies with me!).
See you tomorrow,
Gollum

  3. I remember Bonnie Bell!
Way before that there was Little Lady.
I had an aunt who would give us that as gifts, and my mom would get rid of it. She firmly believed little girls should smell of soap and water...:)But I was 5 and I liked Little Lady!

    Thanks for the pic treat!
I think you should have a caption contest for the pic of the donkey in the header.
It is speaking to me! I don't know what it is saying yet though...but I hear voices..

  6. Each image is a vision of loveliness.

You made me smile. When I was a teenager, I was always saving money to go antiquing with my mother.

  8. Happy Monday Gollum, Plaid and dishes, my two most favourite things oh and books of course. I loved reading about life on your farm and all the animals are adorable.
We stayed at an old Georgian mansion once in Wales and were awoken by a field of cows and sheep the next morning, serenading us with mooo's and baaa's, I am sure they were singing "Oh what a beautiful morning". (smiles) Kathy.

  10. Good Morning Gollum, Loved your post from sunday and your mosaic today. That farm of yours looks very big, and would be a handful to manage I am sure! Just a heads up... I read about a warning on Yahoo that anyone with a Twitter acct should watch out for a phishing scam upon signing in. I guess they are something to watch for constantly these days. have a good Monday, Jan/jjlmnaz

  12. Hi Gollum,

It's a dreary day here today, we're expecting bad weather the next few days, but my spirits can't help but be uplifted when I come here for a visit. :)

    Have a great day.

  14. HI Gollum! Today I went to a local antique store....it is divided into sections with many vendors. With every dish or collection of dishes I thought of you...and Susan. I kept thinking "would G. like this?" I was on a hunt for red wine glasses and when I was leaving spotted some but couldn't find someone to wait on me so will go back tomorrow or the next day. I just want to THANK YOU for being SUCH an inspiration to me and for showing/teaching me what to look for and appreciate! Have a great evening. Hugs, Pinky

  16. I understand about the young buying lip gloss and you not...but instead buying egg cups....I was one of those girls buying the household items and plants...lol I had my first spider plant started in a glass on my bedroom table at age 9. It was all downhill from there...I had a hope chest when I was 12...had all the plastic bowls and almost a full kitchen collected by the time I was 16!
Terrie is right...your collections are addictive...they make me crave things lately too...went crown shopping today...can you believe that no one in this town knows what the heck I am talking about? I told one lady in the garden center to mark my words...crowns are going to be HOT here SOON...and then left my number for the day they finally get some in!

  18. Gollum the BBC had an article today saying that Wedgewood and Waterford have now gone into administration, I hope they find a buyer, so sad to see all these great companies having such a rough time and the knock-on effect it has.

  22. GG~ Have "peeked in" the last several days, but have not been up to par (cold/flu/"after Christmas exhaustion" took hold of me), & leaving a comment took just too darn much energy! Am glad I CAN do so NOW! (And you know I love EVERYTHING you write n' do ANYWAY, right?!?!?!). Have missed you! Warmest hugs n' happy New Year to all the Gollumites!!! XO, Linda

  23. Back when I was trying to figure out who Gollum really was, I was searching RMS for those plaid curtains. I never could figure it out until almost the end of the mystery. Loved the green plaid - will we see a revival? Sally
