A Whirlwind Virtual Shopping Trip

Do you remember when I bought the blue-gray dishes?

Well, I went shopping online and found the darlingest napkins.

Then I went hog wild. I bought plaid napkins, fringed napkins, and dish-cloth-styled napkins.

The dish cloth type napkins came in assorted colors.

I bought birdhouse dishes on Ebay--the price was right. Won't they make a sweet setting for a Valentine's breakfast?
I'm so ready for spring.

Luckily, they weren't packed in peanuts.

They'd look great with a red checkered tablecloth--or polka dots.

napkins: Amazon.com
dishes: Thompson's Pottery "Birdhouse"

  2. Hi Gollum! I love your new dishes! The little birdhouse is so cute. A flock of birds from the thrift store would be descending upon my house to go with them, I'm afraid. I love your new napkins as well, especially the fringed ones! I never think of trying eBay. You've got me curious. Have a great day!...Debbie

  10. Good morning my late night posting friend! :-) You know I have a chat room. We late nighters should meet there one night, or should I say "morning." The birdhouse dishes are wonderful. I might have to follow your trend and buy some more napkins. My napkin drawer does not runneth over for some reason. Why are pretty napkins hard to find? Anyway, trying to get my thoughts together for Tablescape Tuesday but the only thing I have the energy for is Chinette. Think anyone would be impressed? LOL Have a great day and rest of your weekend! 11. You go girl! Ebay awaits you. The story of young Bandwith was quite funny but I hope your repair bill isn't horrific. Dishes are adorable as are the various napkins. There is a layer of frozen fog covering our trees this morning - quite lovely.

  18. Isn't it funny how you only had intentions on looking and maybe buying one set of napkins and then that just didn't seem quite enough. I am on a napkin hunt myself and have been haunting the thrift stores for linen napkins and have found quite a few,it is a treasure hunt.Ebay and thrift store shopping is like the ever ready bunny it keeps going and going.I think that is how collections start and then we wind up donating them back and the cycle begins for someone else, the gift that keeps on giving hehe. 19. These plates are delightful, I just looked for the "Birdhouse" tea-set (for an outdoor cream tea) I found the tea pot which is so cute and the sugar bowl and creamer, but I could not find any cups and saucers only mugs, they even had a pretty cake stand. What pretty napkins oh the endless combinations. your valentines breakfast tray set-up is perfect.

  33. Tooooo cute, and I'm sure it makes people in snow areas "optimistic" that spring WILL eventually come! They're "happy"!!!~~~~ ANNND, I simple ADORE the simplicity of the napkins for the new gray china... makes me think of the Swedes~ You know, how they decorate so "softly", often with just white & little dabs of soft color... nothing pretentious... and it's just magical... what yummy, quiet elegance will be at the table when you set it! Can't WAIT to see that too! THANKS, Linda

  35. P.S. Agree w/ what KATHYSUE said about E-bay... I seem to (unintentionally, of course!) "collect" napkins like Liz Taylor collected hubbies! Can't keep my eyes OR hands off of them, either!!!

I cannot believe the beautiful seashell napkins! Just what I'm looking for (whee!). I found some beautiful accent plates that look like a close up of seashells at Pier 1 for $1.18 each (SCORE!) and then some pretty brown linen placemats to go with them for $1.48 each (DOUBLE SCORE!!). Then saw your beautiful napkins and knew I had to have them to complete my muted seashore look. I've got tons of stuff to use for a tablescape with the shell plates so for $30 I got a great new look for the table this spring. I love me a bargain!
