The cold, winter morning cried out for a springish touch.
I started with the twig flatware, the white chargers, and the blue-gray dishes from last week's tablescape. Then I spotted the birdhouses that I found a few weeks ago. I grabbed a blue dish and ran around the house, looking for inspiration.
First, I lined a black tray with moss (to contain the fall-out). But let me digress: I wanted to show you the little nest...see the white eggs? Two years ago, we found them at the barn--we couldn't figure out the culprit, since we didn't have guineas at the time. I saved them. And I keep them on a little stand. They mean a lot to me. :-))
Next, I used a cookie cutter to make Bird-shaped biscuits.
And eggs that we'd gathered at the barn.
Pineapple juice and coffee...
A very egg-centric tablescape, to be sure. :-)
Candlelight at brunch? Why not? :-)
I added Bethany Lowe bird dishes. Each plate is different. Here's one..
And another...
And another.
A little birdhouse with a glass knob "perch."
A closer look at the wee, mysterious eggs.

Those bird dishes - darling! Now I've got to make some cookie cutter biscuits! These are to die for! Well, not really die, but you know what I mean!! :) I could really stay here all day.
Now, since you're an author and all - really listen to me! You should put together a picture book of your gorgeous tablescapings, food pictures and such and we'd all buy it! Really! You are wonderful at this! I'm trying to help you get richer! :)
Be a sweetie and see you for FF!
Shelia ;)
Love the centerpiece. The birdhouses are adorable. Very fun.
Kris
How appropriate, little birdies for Spring. Love your centerpiece (very creative) and the Bethany Lowe plates are so perfect.
Do not know how you store all your dishes, but wish to pass on --
to prevent chipping of stacked plates, slip a paper coffee filter between them. Not only are they lint free and a suitable size but their cost is reasonably... chEEp.
HAVE A GREAT DAY! -Brenda-
(Hope this doesn't go thru a gazillion times, as I had a problem posting it.)
This is so adorable! What a great idea!
Your table is a "breath of spring". The plates are divine! Your room is warm & inviting with the sunshine streaming in. I am thinking Spring myself today even though it's cold & rainy.
Love your themed table, especially all the little details, like the bird biscuits. So cute!
Fabulous!!! I have gathered a few things for a sort of garden themed tablescape. I can't wait to get to work!!
I love this!
This is another great table scape. I just love the center piece. So beautiful! Hugs, Bobbi Jo
Gollum, I am sure your knew how much i would love.. this. It's so sweet. I love your eggs. They are so special. And your plates are to die for. Those little biscuits are to cute to eat. I always adore your tablescapes.
Hugs, Terrie
I need a hardback book with all these creations! On the egg, I'm curious if you pierced the eggs you found and drained what was inside. Or did it just dry up. I'm a city girl and even though I live in a rual area I don't know much about farms; but my husband would be a farmer in a heartbeat.
Blossom
I love the idea to go with a theme like that..., nature is so inspiring!
Good Morning Gollum,
Today's Tablespace is wonderful. I love how you used your birdhouses, they look great. I save the little eggs our Finches lay, they are fine as long as they don't get broken before they dry out. :(
I use candles on our table every Sunday for brunch, I started it when we were first married, I'll use any excuse I can come up with to use candles.
Hugs

Wonderful table. I do love birds and birdhouses and as usual you took it to a new high.
I am thinking about trying a Foodie Friday but am a bit nervous. Thanks for sharing, Maryrose
Perfect! That centerpiece is so beautiful. I love the way you incorporated those wonderful bird candleabras into your centerpiece. It looks like trees with birds in them growing out of your centerpiece. And those bird nests with eggs, and the bird house-well, it's all wonderful! laurie
Mary Rose, please join us for Foodie Friday! I hope I have everything sorted out with Mr. Linky.
I didn't do anything to the eggs...they just sort of petrified on their own.
Your table is just truly breathtakingly beautiful! I love the cute little mystery *inspiration* eggs that hatched your plan for today's tablescape! :-) The bird and egg theme is delightful in every way, and I am so inspired by your beautiful layering of different china patterns. Sweet birdie biscuits add such a cute touch to the table, and your birdhouse with the crystal perch is wonderful incorporated into the centerpiece...so elegantly done. I love everything about this stunning setting.
Hi Gollum! Great tablescape today...love anything nature and birds., birdhouses, etc... ;) The little plates are adorable. My tablescape today is a nostalgic one...the event took place yesterday and I didn't write it in my post., but the husband is in the early stages of Alzheimers., which makes the Love Story more precious even. Hope you can stop by and enjoy my tea with them yesterday, he serenaded her too! So tender... ~CC Catherine
What a beautiful table! Of course I'm crazy about bird houses, nests, eggs, etc. I think my favorite part of of your table is the silverware which reminds me of chicken feet. (I hope that's not insulting.) It is just adorable!
I spent Tuesday this week antiguing with Penny of Lavender Hill Studio and every time I saw china, I thought of you.

This is so pretty, and such a reminder that spring is almost here. Each month at my church, our Women's Ministries has a brunch and fellowship. I am the one who always has to come up with the tablescapes. For March,we've decided to do a Welcome Spring theme, and decorate with birdhouses. So your tablescape has given me great inspiration for what can be done with our tables.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend. :) Brenda
