Bandwith Cooks: Key Lime Pie



Bandwith's Key Lime Pie
Crust:
1 1/2 c graham cracker crumbs
1 stick butter, melted
1/4 sugar

Mix and press into a pan. Bake 10 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Cool.

Filling:
4 farm eggs
1/4 c granulated sugar
Beat together for about 5 minutes.

Add:
1 can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
3/4 cup Key lime juice
pinch of salt
lime zest, optional

Mix on medium speed for 1 minute. Pour into cooled sheel. Pop into the freezer for an hour. Serve with whipped cream.

That looks yummy! Bandwidth did good! I have an easy Key Lime pie recipe from my aunt and haven't fixed it for a while, and your post just reminded me.

Dear Mr. Bandwith (chip off the old block) well, not too old ... my granddaughter and grandson thank you from the bottom of their little hearts ~ key lime pie is a favorite and they haven't had any since we moved from Florida to Oregon almost four years ago. This looks like a recipe we can all live with - and achieve pie success.

Oh, this sounds so easy and delicious...something I can handle..We are having all our family over for Easter Sunday dinner and I will make one of these to go along with some more desserts. Please tell your son many thanks for his recipe...

Isn't it fun to have sons who cook? My three sons are excellent in the kitchen, their wives love it! It is taking my daughter a bit longer to catch the cooking and baking bug.

Hi Gollum,

I have to admit, I've never had Key Lime Pie. I bake a lot, but this isn't something I've tried. I just might have to give it a try, for no other reason, than for the color!!!! ;) It seems that Lime Green is the NOW color, I see it everywhere and all shades of green are my favorite color. Thanks to your son for the recipe.
