Easy Peasy Guilt-free Cake and Other Stuff

I found a way to indulge my carb cravings.

Easy Peasy, Guilt-Free Cake

  • 1 sugar free angel food cake (Publix)

  • 1 carton sugar free Cool Whip

  • Fruit (garnish)

  • shredded coconut

"Ice" the cake with Cool Whip and garnish with kiwi and strawberries.

You could also cut the cake in half and spread sugar free strawberry jam over the bottom layer. Now add a layer of sugar free vanilla pudding. On top of this, arrange thin strawberry slices. Add the top cake layer and ice/garnish. Add toothpicks to keep the layers from sliding, if necessary. Chill.

Chocolate drops and Pillsbury canned bread dough = bunny bread.

Also, this is how I really tablescape. No crystal, nothing matches, paper napkins. (The cute napkins are whisked away, and paper towels are plunked down.)Let's dig in. Heaven.

I love angel food cake. I had to make a dessert for a function recently and made an angel food cake from the boxed mix and it was delicious!! I served it with fresh strawberries sweetened with Splenda and fat-free whipped topping. It was so good. Your dessert looks really good too. I love any kind of fruit. I'm glad to see that you eat like the rest of us sometimes. I love a pretty table, but you can't do that all the time. Have a great week. Love & blessings from NC!

I love your everyday table scape. One night I put a pot with a big spoon onto the table right from the stove and hubby asked if I wanted to take a table scape photo of my "serving" dish. Love the bunny. Is the cake still low cal if I eat the whole thing?

Have A Terrific Tuesday

That bunny bread is sooo cute! I wish I'd seen that before Easter. I'll have to save it for next year. Your every day tablescape looks beautiful. As usual, your culinary artistry has impressed me! laurie

Just FORCED myself to throw the malted milk balls from last week's tablescape in the garbage. Now off to add angel food cake to the grocery list. You made it so pretty and I always "eat" with my eyes first!

I just saw the nomination on your side bar (after reading comments about it-see how observant I am). Congratulations and Good luck! I'm reading Mermaids now, and having trouble putting it down to get anything done. I had to hide it from myself before the Easter holiday, so I could get ready for Easter dinner! laurie

I have done this angel food cake before. I used sugar free vanilla pudding and fresh chopped strawberries in the middle and covered with sugar free Cool Whip and fanned strawberries...yum.
I am going to try with chocolate pudding and raspberries in the middle next.

Yummm!

Love the tablescape! BUT, at my house, hubby refuses to eat at the table, so it's hold onto your plate & paper towel & enjoy! No chargers, no cloth napkins & no place settings. It's self (or Mom) serve from food left on the stove. (We're a little too laid back I think...)

You have such great ideas! I love angel food cake!

Congrats on your nomination! (Now I'm going to have to get that book!) Love the "bunny bread", very cute!

Nancy Jane said...

Congratulations on the book nomination! Had to laugh about whisking away the linen napkins. On Easter, my husband wasn't quite sure he should use the "good" ones! He's also been remarkably patient while I hold food back so I can take pictures! Guess I'll keep him for another 30 something years! :) Nancy
