New Tablecloth, New Look -- For Under $3

I stumbled across this darling tablecloth at Big Lots. Dr. Gollum squinted at the price and said, "This is my kind of shopping."
When we got home, I told Dr. G to meet me on the porch for a snack.

My original plan was to paint the furniture and keep everything neutral, but I'm so glad I left it alone. I love that little jolt of green.

Sometimes life rushes by so fast, and it can be complicated; but a few minutes in the sunshine slows time and recharges the batteries.

I used pink Depression plates and pink plaid napkins.
I can't think of a better way to spend the day--shopping at Big Lots with my husband and lunch on the porch ... with a pink tablecloth.
I'm definitely going back for more tablecloths!

  10. What a beautiful table setting. I haven't been to a Big Lots in about 8 years since I moved but I think there is one here in Woodstock that I simply must check out. I just found your blog last week from A Southern Daydreamer but since then I have seen so many pretty things you have purchased from there. Thank you for sharing with us some great shopping tips. That must have been a very relaxing lunch indeed.

I wonder if *YOUR* Big Lots makes a huge effort to be more creative with how they stock their store? There could be no better marketing guru than Ms. Gollum herself!

I love reading about you and the good doctor at Big Lots ....
