Outdoor Wednesday: Early Supper

Pull up a chair and join us in the yard for an early supper.
The menu is simple: salad, bread, fruit, scones, and wine.
The sun won't go down for a while, but a cool breeze is stirring, and we'll have plenty of time to talk.
A tiered plate rack makes good use of vertical space.
Yesterday, I was enjoying pinkness, but today, I'm loving cherry red. I love how a tablecloth and napkins can make such dramatic changes.

Anyone want a blueberry scone?

We're on a huge fruit kick. Dr. G is always telling his patients to eat more fruit!

No dressing on the salad except for lemon juice and a hint of extra virgin olive oil.
A closer look at the tablecloth. In the 1940s and 1950s, tablecloths were the best ever. Whoever made them got it right--cheerful patterns and colors.
The beehive is actually a plate cover--practical for outdoor meals in the "wilds" of gollumland.
