A Store-bought Foodie Friday

The technician is working on our internet today, and it's fading in and out. So I'm posting while it is connected. Pull up a chair and grab a fork. It's a Store-bought Foodie Friday at Gollum's house. Today, we're serving a fruit glazed cheesecake from my favorite grocery.

It suffered a little damage during the trip home from Publix, with the fruit slanting sideways. Nothing a fork won't cure. :-)

I love sunflowers...but not as much as cheesecake.
I wasn't sure how it would slice, since it's top-heavy. . .
But it was a snap, a piece of cake. ::wink:

Edible art. Definitely.
One bite leads to another delicious bite.

Don't forget to grab a mini key lime tart.

  4. Looking at that cheesecake and lime tart is torture! I'd like to have some of both. I really wish we had a Publix here. I've visited them other places, when we've been traveling, and I really like them.

I love the sunflowers too! I was just telling my hubby last night that I've been wanting to try growing some sunflowers in our yard.

Hope you get your Internet problems straightened out, and that you have a wonderful weekend!

  11. You have a lovely Blog.
What a great day to drop by your place and spy cheesecake and sunflowers.

These are beautiful pictures of cheesecake and I can easily imagine how good it tasted. The fruit on top is a sure thing.

Sunflowers are my state's State Flower. Good 'ole Kansas where the buffalo roam and the deer and the antelope play!

If you like Tea Parties, please come by and visit.

    Blessings to you.

  24. I love it Dear Gollum that you don't feel the need to bake everything yourself. After many years of cooking myself to a frazzle for dinners and parties I have decided that it's OK to purchase goodies at the store to serve my guests. It's the hospitality and the conversation that makes a dinner party a success. (As well as a pretty table and good food)and if Trader Joe can bake the cake then by golly let him do it. It took me years and years to come to this understanding. Thanks for sharing your Foodie Friday~ ~Ahrisha~ ~

Love your photos! That's what make the cake look like art...your touch! Hope you have a great weekend...hugs...Debbie

  27. The cheesecake looks amazing -- you can't buy anything like that here on the prairie so I have to resort to doing it myself . . . but the sunflowers, ah -- that is prairie!

  43. Beginning with the time I was a newly-wed, I gave a lot of dinner parties with Publix cheesecake as the dessert. People are crazy for it. I think Publix has one of the best ones around... store bought or homemade! Loved seeing your pretty one all decked out in fruit. Very elegant!

    XO,

    Sheila :-)
