Foodie Friday: Fall Cookie Cutters

Not much time around the farm, but that's not stopping me from thinking about fall cookies. Dreaming about cookie baking saves calories, but it's not nearly as much fun as accidentally flinging dough onto the ceiling or having your cookies develop hip-spread.
I was telling someone the other day, I'm ready for Halloween. I haven't had time to cut my hair, and I look just like the girl in that horror movie, The Ring. You know, the girl with the hair who crawls out of the TV set?
Yep, that's me. So I won't need a costume this year.
The plates were bought at Big Lots this summer (when it was 98 degrees and Fall merchandise was being set about). The sprinkles are made by Wilton. The napkins are dish towels.
Darling cookie cutters. However, you all know about me and cookies, so please take pity on these poor cookie cutters. And the cookies are bound to show up someday in a Foodie Friday Trainwreck.(Cookie cutters, set of 5, by R&M International Corp, Pipersville, Pa). Wilton makes them, too.
A closer look at the sprinkles, which utterly fascinate me. 3 carbs per tablespoon is my kind of sprinkle. Unfortunately they will look 180 degrees different after I'm finished.
If you are joining us for Foodie Friday, Mr. Linky awaits your recipe and blog-post link. Thanks to all of you wonderful cooks for making this event fun.

My sprinkles don't have calories or carbs on them--of course,I'm not sure where I bought them either :) Be sure to take pictures when you start fling dough!

Love those cookie cutters! I think that snickerdoodles would be the perfect cookie for the leaf cutters. Hope that you are having a good one!

I don't think I've ever flung cookie dough, but I flung (flang? flinged?) pistachio pudding fluff down my kitchen steps this very evening on my way to supper at my mother's house. So we will have to have ice cream sandwiches for dessert, instead.

I got so distracted looking at cute little Mister in his costume that I almost forgot to join the party! Oh, if only cookies didn't have calories!

You are teasing us with what's to come of those sprinkles and cookie cutters! Suddenly my mouth is watering and I have a craving for a delicious sugar cookie.
Good luck on the baking - who cares if you make a little mess. Around here the baker doesn't always have to clean up the kitchen afterward, that's a good deal, don't you think? I hope you'll come by for a very yummy plum tart recipe. See you soon!

Can't wait to see your cookies. And, hey, we're coming upon the holidays (okay, so they're at least two months away), but there are no calories during holidays!

I admire your baking aspirations. Let's hope most of the cookie dough makes it into the oven ;)

I am a bit lazy when it comes to making cookies... This you will see when you visit my blog for the "no calorie" desserts.

A beautiful post, Michael. You've inspired me to get out my box of cookie cutters and make sure I have a supply of fall colors and sprinkles. What could be better than a decorated sugar cookie?

I love cookie cutters! But after 35 years of making sugar cookies I came to the conclusion that I love eating the cookies but making them is too frustrating for me so I have two huge glass jars of them that I like to look at but I'll let someone else make them! And I am OK with that. I hope you'll post your beautifully made and decorated ones and I will enjoy yours too.

Just bought my sprinkles at JoAnn's fabrics this week-end and also bought some cupcake holders.
Now time to bake them; busy too.
Love the plates and the napkin (dish towel).

I need to make up a directory and set of instructions to keep up with my memes.
I had my post ready ahead of time...good. Then I remembered to actually link it up this time...good. Then I visited a bunch of other participants...good.
Then it occurred to me that I forgot to leave a comment on your post...not so good. Sorry.

I can picture using those cookie cutters to cut out some pie crust leaves to decorate the top of a pie or to use them on some puff pastry for an appetizer of some sort. Oh ya, cookies are good too.

Your photographs are always beautiful; these are no exception. I can hardly wait to see what you'll accomplish with these items. I've never anxiously awaited a "trainwreck" before! ;)

I can't wait to see your finished cookies. My cut out cookies are never pretty. They are pretty in my mind, but that doesn't translate to the cookie. ;-)

How is your mother?
