Foodie Friday: A Quick Holiday Supper (with help from Mister the Decorating Dog)

Welcome to another Foodie Friday.

Just when I think I have a month to play house, work catches up with me. However, I am well acquainted with the path of least resistance. When the spirit is willing but the body says NEVER,
try storebought goodies.

Naturally I found these at my favorite grocery.
I actually bought food to cook, too.
After a day of endless chores (and tending to things, like car tags),

I found supper at the deli.

Sweet Potato and pecan bread...

Spinach quiche...
7-layer salad
And cookies! A quiet meal at twilight--with Mister overseeing the decorating details--is my idea of bliss.
I love this time of day, Blue Time, but, like so many of the best things in life, it only lasts seconds.

Somehow you make food from the grocery store look so special!! I always say - you don't have to make everything yourself... just present it well, and that you do!!

I love the ambience of that room, I just want to curl up on the couch with a good book and eat cookies!

Gollum, loved this post. Mister is so precious, and seeing how cute he is, I have been looking at teacup yorkies. My babies are both gone (I had bad little terriers), and at some point before too long, I am getting another dog. Actually two. Mr. Magpie needs to have his own to love. We fight over them. ;-)

Loved the cookies, and I really love your room. It's a perfect place to curl up and enjoy that sunset. I know what you mean about the blue time. The other night, I started out for a walk, and I stood in the yard, mesmerized by the shade of the blue the sky was.

Happy Foodie Friday...

XO,

Sheila :-)

I love the pictures on the wall of the two bunnies and the dog. I haven't had much luck finding bunny pictures like yours. Would you share where you got yours?

Michael, it's so nice to have store-bought goodies to get us through the busy times. Your meal looks wonderful. And I'm so glad (and so is Lucy, my pug!) to see Mister back at his decorating best. We're so glad to see you two. Come back and play with us all in blogland as soon as you can! Have a great weekend!

Y'all know how to make a body feel good! I have been trying to get the master bedroom ready for a Met Monday--I move like a snail.

Sandy, I bought the rabbit pictures decades apart--the big bunny came from a local antique store, and teh bunnies came from a deco shop that went out of business.
These paintings were in my guest room, but I moved them to the Master and put the blue paintings in the guest room.
Oh, it is SO wonderful to be blogging! I feel like I'm at a food party tonight.

By the way, the cookies are LONG gone. I have gained a ton of weight while writing. Tra la la!

Mmmm, your meal looks delicious! Wish I had thought to stop by the deli/bakery. The quiche looks devine. Is that cilantro on top?

Mister is so cute. It's strange but for my Foodie Friday post I also posted a picture of my daughter new puppy Chorizo/Precious.

Thanks for hosting. I'm off to visit others. Have a great weekend.
