Met Monday: Living Room Draperies

I just have a small "before & after" this Monday...
living room draperies.
It can be difficult to find 108" ready-made draperies. During Horchow's sale, I found fabric that worked with our upholstered pieces. The panel in the first photo turned faintly pink, so I returned it. Luckily, the second fabric was spot-on.
Dr. Gollum and I found the rods at Lowes--an easy selection since the metal worked with the coffee table and the iron balcony railing. (However, Mr. Tom installed the rods, bless him.)

  2. The drapes look fabulous! They just would not have had the same impact any shorter. Thank Goodness for the Mr. Toms of the world. They have saved many a marriage! Love the pecan recipe..I will defiitely try these!

  11. * Sweetie, ANYTHING you EVER do is a "Class Act", & this was no exception!!! (Then again, I could look at your house, & the spaces you've decorated/designed, all day long!!!

    What a TREAT to see you "back to decorating" today!!!!!(I mean, you K*N*O*W how I feel about COOKING anymore~~~ about putting things in/on that "big silver, red-knobbed do-jiggie", from which "nice fires" eminate!!! Ha!)~~~

  15. So light and bright! They match the room and the view perfectly! Yes, yes, the Mr. Tom is a very valuable asset to any marriage! Can you post a closer pic of the little birds on the table by the window? They look so cute, like they are peeking outside!

  18. Oh, Gollum, these drapes look wonderful! I think it's the perfect finishing touch for the windows, and they don't block your light. That's what I love about this room... it is so light-filled. It just has a really good feeling from the pictures. Plus it's so pretty.

    I'm glad you have a dependable carpenter. He always seems to get things done well for you! :-)

  23. I agree with Linda/Mom, enjoy your foodie posts but love, love, love it when you share pictures of your house. Yours is my favorite house in all of blog land, well anywhere really:)
    The new curtains compliment your living room so well. You find the best stuff....I so need a Mr. Tom and could use a Mrs. Tom too. Since we moved over a hundred miles from my home town I don't have helper elves any more down here like I did back home.

  34. This room just makes me feel SUNNY! All the windows make me feel so happy. We live in the woods and don't get alot of light and I LOOVE sunshine streaming in the windows. Makes me want to say AHHHHHHHH! Hope you are enjoying this wonderful Christmas season! XO, PInky

  35. Tomorrow, I'm going to try and post a photo of the basement plant room. It's still in disarry because we let the baby donkey stay there a few days--seriously!--but I have some BD (before donkey) photos.

    Before that happened, I bought 108" draperies at Country Curtains. They have a website and a catalog--Lori, you would be able to order them. CC has 96", 108", and 120".

  39. I adore your new curtains...you can let in ALL the light or close it out - the best ! Donkey in the basement ? - poor little guy - I remember when my donkey was just a baby - they are soooo cute....he will come in the house now if I leave a door open - so I don't leave it open as I am sure he would have too much fun !
