Giveaways Galore at Designs by Gollum

Last week, I finally finished my new novel, Gone With a Handsomer Man, and I am celebrating. Before I start another one and crawl back into my hidey-hole, I wanted to let you know about a few give-aways.
One just isn't enough.

Give-away #1
February 19th--Friday
Join me in celebrating Foodie Friday's first anniversary.

The door prizes for the FF Anniversary Party:
A 20-piece set of white Gibson ("Gollum") dishes. If you want to read why they're called "Gollum dishes," click HERE and Here and Here and HERE to name just a few who swear by this set.

A set of 4 Pietra Cappuccino glasses (hopefully in time for St. Pat's)

Set of 4 dessert plates with polka dots!

Hand lotion for cooks from Skin MD Naturals
The winners will be announced Tuesday, February 23, my mom's 81st birthday. I will post the winners' names, and you can email your address.

If you've never participated in Foodie Friday, you can learn about it HERE.

Hold on, there's more.

Give-away #2

March 5, 2010

On March 5, 2010, the give-away will be a 12" copper pan. I've had one for years, and love it. Just leave a comment on any DBG post and mention the pan, telling me why you like cooking with copper (or even if you just like to look at it). The more times you comment, the more chances you'll have of winning (more later).

Give-away #3

April 1, 2010 Facebook Fanpage

Those who join my Facebook Fan page before April 1st will have a chance to win a stoneware LeCreuset pear. The drawing will be held April 1, 2010. Aren't they adorable? Two people will win a casserole. If you'd like a chance to win, look for the comment box on the Fanpage HERE about the pears. It may have scrolled way down by now, so just leave a new comment, mention the pears, and your name will go into the hat. (If you don't win the pear, I'll tell you a secret: There will be more FB Fanpage give-aways all year.)

Give-away #4

June 4, 2010

The Granddaddy Give-away will be a brand-spanking new KitchenAid classic mixer.

You can increase your chances of winning a door prize several ways.

  • Become a Follower/Friend of Designs by Gollum via Google Connect
  • Add your favorite Foodie Friday photographs to the FF Gallery HERE.

Every day, the most fabulous cooks in blogland bring their talents to the table. I'm celebrating 1 year of Foodie Friday links by a.) featuring a weekly link to your recipes at the top of my sidebar and b.) creating a gallery to showcase Foodie Friday participants. I'd like to invite you to add your blog link and recipes (put your link in the comment box beneath your photos). A Foodie Friday cookbook is in the works, and if you'd like your recipe to be included, please add a photo and link to your blog.

The older FF links get lost in the shuffle, and they're too good. I'm hoping the gallery can be a FF at a Glance. No comments are necessary, just a link to your recipes.

Foodie photos that haven't appeared in FF posts are more than welcome, too. For the duration of the give-aways, the more photos you add, the more times your name goes into the pot!

By adding your link/permalink to your photo, others will have a chance to enjoy your blog and recipes.

  • You are invited to add your design and tablescaping photos to Design Notebook Gallery. Again, for the duration of the contests, the more photos you add, the more chances you'll have of winning. Please add a link to your blog so others can enjoy your past and future posts.

If you don't have a blog and you are a DBG follower, you are welcome to add your design-related photos to the Design Notebook, and you'll have extra chances to win.
Too, let me know if it's okay to use some of your photos in my newsletter. I will be featuring bloggers from time to time. (Bandwidth will be helping me do the math on all this, thank heavens, so your names will be properly added to the hat.)

  • The more comments you leave on any DBG post, the more times your name goes into the hat.
  • Add the Give-away button to your blog's sidebar with a permalink to this page, and your name will be added twice to the hat. Be sure to leave me a message.

  • That's not all.

There will be give-aways all year because I HEART y'all. I HEART you to pieces. When I was in my writing hidey-hole, all by myself, you were there with encouragement and kindness.

I have been looking for a good book to help me with my diet. In the end I googled it and found this site http://www.hungryforweightloss.com.

They are giving away a free ebook called "365 tips for healthy living". I didn't expect it to be any good because it's free but it's actually brilliant so I thought i'd share it here :)

Well, the title sold me... can't wait to read that new book! The give-aways sound wonderful too and I have linked today's post to your blog. I gave up on putting your new logo on the sidebar... that thing is so frustrating; it will not let me rearrange the items like I want them. I wish someone would explain how to control those slippery little suckers!

    Tamra said...

What a fabulous givaway!! And the copper pan.....what can I say? Ces't tre Fracais! I love copper because it's a workhorse, timeless and most of all beautiful to look at!

Two years ago I treated myself to some copper pans while in Paris from De Hillerin and one is so heavy that I can barely lift it when it's empty let alone with food in it. My family laughs at me but I love it anyway.

    Generous givaways, thank you!

Boy could I use a new mixer...I'm still using my hand mixer that is over 30 years old...lol And oldie and a goodies...I've bought mixers on stands before but they all burn out on me...yet this $7.99 GE hand mixer never gives up. Even if I wand this beautiful Kitchen Aid mixer I'd have to hang onto my hand mixer...just in case...lol
