All my life, I've been drawn to pinkness. The color is like a first kiss--tender and memorable. Pink is playful, romantic, youthful. It can be hot and peppy, or soft as the inside of a baby's ear. When it comes to dish collections, pink is versatile. It blends perfectly with other pinks, and red is a kissing cousin. Depending on the colors you put with it, you can create whimsy, excitement, elegance, romance, or a feminine ladies luncheon.Tone-on-tone pink has many personalities--quiet, charming, or happy. You name it. Pink-and-white can work in a nursery or a living room. But if you want to see pink's broad range, bring in other colors. Add black and the look is sophisticated, retro, or edgy. Chocolate accents are timeless and chic. Yellow adds a lively dynamic . A touch of green reminds us of tender shoots in our gardens; this fresh pairing whispers that winter, like everything else, will pass away. The days will be longer and sunnier; warmth is on its way. It might be a tad slow, but it's unstoppable.
I think of all these things when I see pink. I'm reminded to be patient, and to smile as often as possible.

You've heard about lovers cutting off each others' clothes with pinking shears? Wow, what the hell are you reading over there? Or... maybe it's what you're writing? Woot woot!
Justine :o )
Good idea, Justine! I'm so making a character do this.
;-)
Hi Michael, I just noticed on your sidebar for the first time that you all raise sheep. We do too. We raise Tunis sheep, kind of rare...not really but hubby says so...big smile. They have dark reddish brown faces. Anyhoo
I'm a pink girl too! Loved your dishes and your post. Love the slideshow! That is different and very nice looking. Love your blog!
Blessings,
Debbie

Happy PS, Michael!! Now, I'm going to have to use the following phrase to my teenage granddaughter this week...."I'm sooo pinked off at you!" She knows how wild I am about pink!! Love your slideshows. I'm really REALLY loving those silver Fleur de Lis napkin rings. And oh my, my heart still races when I see the red/white tablescape at the base of your stairs! :0)

Wow\ Beautiful photos; everything is so perfect here!love it.
I love your pink post. You started my morning smiling. The "pinked off" phrase is priceless.
Please turn your head while I sneak away with the pheasant (is that a pheasant?) plate. I have a similar one which was my grandmother's, and I am always on the lookout for more.
Happy Pink Saturday. I am so glad you were able to participate today. We've missed your smiling face.
Wow absolutely stunning. Pink is a wonderful color, but not one I have seen much of as I live in a house full of males. Maybe one day I will have a spare room to do what I want with and I think it will have to have some pink in it. Happy Saturday and Hugs, Marla
Michael,

I love all your "pinkness" today -- my favorite color. I'm especially attracted to those pink and green (favorite combo) napkins -- love table linens (almost as much as dishes!)
Michael Lee, Your words are full of pink truthfulness! I delight in pink and green. It is young and fresh and full of springtime promise. Today's post was perfect as I sit in my study looking at 24 inches of snow.
Beautiful- the pink, but mostly the new design for your blog. I love it!
Yvonne
This is gorgeous...you really put some time into Pink Saturday. I love the flatware. I seem to be having some issues loading your page since you added all the slideshow features. I have DSL...so, I don't quite know what is going on. I did finally get it to fully load and love what I see!

First order of business ~~ your blog just keeps getting better and better. The photos, the photography, the design, the creative effort ... So wonderful to draw inspiration from, so entertaining to read!
Your pinks today are, of course, pretty.
Happy Pink Saturday!
Beautiful presentations!
Enjoy the weekend.
Gollum, these dishes are FABULOUS! I love every one of them, and is that Old Master flatware in that one shot? It looks like my oldest sister's pattern.
I just bought some fabric to make pillows that has pink and yellow in it. I love that combination. And I run the gamut from loving peachy pink to ballet pink.
I'm so glad you joined us for Pink Saturday, and I'm enjoying your new journal.
Happy Pink Saturday!
XO,
Sheila :-)
P.S. Remind me to tell you about some similar names in our family to the ones you mentioned to me!

I looooove your blog. All the red in your first post are beautiful. I must have those red polka dot plates. Those are just too cute. I just did a yellow and white tablescape. Drop by when you can.
Karin :)
Hi Michael! My son is a Michael too. I really enjoyed my visit to your blog. You have such a gift for design and presentation. The pheasant plate seems to be a sensation. I've never seen one quite like it. My favorite one is the pink rose chintz one at the bottom. I can't help but smile when I look at it. You've gotten me to thinking about uses for the word pink: pinked out instead of freaked out; pinked up instead of pumped up...you get the idea. See what you've started? Happy belated Pink Saturday and have a great week! Terri
Soooo many pretty pinks! I totally "pink heart" the plate with the pheasant!
It appears that I'm catching up on your posts tonight. So many wonderful sights. Your pretty in pink slide show is sheer delight.
