Especially eat.

I've been writing and writing. And you have been right here with me during this journey. Author Nora Roberts recently said, "Writing is hard...but no one should have to ride the hard times alone."
Come sit with me a while, and we'll wait for twilight.

Beautiful! So quiet and peaceful ~

absolutely stunning. the view would make it hard to write. Loved your dishes too..
ReplyDeleteAwesome hangout place!! Gorgeous view. Are those coconut macaroons I see??? Yum.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful sitting "room." Definitely a room with a view! The food looks great. You always make the food look pretty, Michael Lee. Love those lanterns, too. Hope your writing is going well. I have one of your novels on my dresser right now. I'd love to hear you talk about your writing on your blog a bit more; for example, the process, a bit about your different books - are there series books or all they all different? How you became involved with writing - I know you went to school to become an RN (me too). You just have such a unique career; my curiousity is piqued! Happy Foodie Friday a little early and have a great wknd!

What a gorgeous setting! No wonder your books are so inspired, ML...this has got to feed your soul to sit here & gaze out at God's beautiful handiwork.
ReplyDeleteLovely table accessories, too. The candles make it magical & I could go for one of those cookies, if you don't mind. ;-p
fondly,
Rett

Hi Michael! Your balcony is such a special spot...the views are amazing! I loved seeing your papers covered with your writing...got a little glimpse into your world. :) The twilight was magical. Can you believe summer is winding down...didn't it just get here? Susan
ReplyDeleteI'm on my way...I'll be right over! I'll bring my journal, so we can both spend our time writing. Thank you for sharing your charming vignette. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteOh yum! THis all looks delicious -- the cake -- the table and the view.
ReplyDeleteDelightful, especially the setting!
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing these very lovely photos! please keep them coming :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a very sweet spot for relaxing! I hope you are doing well & enjoying your summer.
ReplyDeleteThis is exquisite, one of your prettiest posts.
ReplyDeleteOut of all the luxe with the beautiful ballustrade, the sunburst mirror, and the flowers that are so beautifully arranged along with that delicious dessert, you know what caught my eye? Your green depression glass plates. A friend of mine collected both the pink and the green, and years ago, she had a tiny historic house near St. Pete, FL. In a little breakfast area, she had a depression glass display, and when the light would hit it, I would sit in rapt fascination. One of the prettiest Easter tables I have ever seen was set with her depression glass, and she had these marvelous eggs some bakery had done that were the prettiest spring colors. That setting reminds me of some of the beautiful things you do on your blog. I think you would have loved it, and it still ranks as my favorite Easter table of all time. And this is just the perfect writer's retreat. Speaking of which, hope it is all going well...
XO,
Sheila :-)
Michael Lee, I've been MIA of late so catching up on some recent posts that I missed. I always enjoy the setting of your side porch. The sweets look delicious! Pound cake and fruit are some of my favorites. :-)
