Foodie Friday: It's All in the Garnish

The moment I get a moment, I will play with food.

Few could resist a platter of smiling cucumbers.

Or citrus vases.

A curly red pepper with a sprigged, rosemary hat.

Ice cream streaked with chocolate, garnished with mint and raspberries.

Foodie Friday is a bit early. As mentioned previously,
our house was hit by lightning again. The wireless internet is acting up, too; historically (in this house, anyway), this means we're about to lose an Internet connection.
You can read more (below), but I'll give you a head's up--Piper has a darker outlook than Gollum.

Just to be cautious, I'm posting Foodie Friday a bit early.

My grandmother had a house that attracted lightening too. Love your fun garnishes -- don't know why my picture didn't print when I linked. Have a great week with words!

The storms have been bad all over this week. Here in Illinois we have had a lot of lightening, wind and rain. It is kind of hard to plan for any outside activities. Have a great Memorial Day weekend:)

I swear their eyes are following me! What a fun way to eat food though. I have found since following you that I am thinking more about how my food looks. Thank you for all your wonderful ideas!

I hear you about the lightning. After being hit by a tornado last April we're a bit skittish these days. Two siren blasts sent us to the basement last night, so Internet is intermittent. Thanks for posting FF early, one never knows these days.

Your garnishes are great! I like the cucumbers the best.

I almost had to publish Full Plate Thursday early last week because of the same issue. These storms are horrible this year. Somebody needs to give Mother Nature a happy pill. Thanks for hosting and have a great week end!

Love the creative food! I keep meaning to do this and even have several books on it but somehow I never get around to "playing with my food" like that. Thanks for the inspiration!

Really sorry about the lightening... I'm not one to be afraid of thunderboomers but when the lightening gets that close, I'm so not a fan. I hope all is restored to normal soon.

The garnishes are too cute! I've never done much fancy garnishing, but those make me think I could actually pull a few of them off.

Thanks as always for hosting Foodie Friday. It's such a great way to meet new friends and get great recipes too!
