My fantasy doesn't involve a month in Italy with Henry Cavill (did my lie detector just go off or is that a tornado warning?).
Seriously, I'd love to have a tablescaping room filled with dishes, napkin rings, tablecloths, glassware, and vases. It's an unobtainable wish, but that's just fine because I write fiction for a living.
I can let my heroine, Teeny Templeton, inherit a house on Rainbow Row in Charleston--a house with dish closets and a vase room.
It's humongous, divided into sections, and even has a table for flower arranging.
Because I'm making this up, I can let the previous owner of the Spencer-Jackson House leave behind a "design notebook," and I can let it be filled with ideas I'd never have in a million years.
Teeny grew up on a peach farm, and she never thought about centerpieces (she thought they were centipedes or the "center pieces" of a quilt), but after reading Elmer's notes, she can't wait to share them with you.
What is your favorite, go-to centerpiece?
Mine is a beach bag, crammed with flowers (I put a plastic vase inside and anchor it with florist's tape).
Teeny will be hosting giveaways all summer--some will be announced and some won't.
She's giving away a Kindle on July 10th
and also a book-and-goodie stuffed beach basket.
As always, if you'd like to enter the contests, just leave a note here at Gollum.
The beachy items are fun, fun, fun!
Check the "Members Only" section of Teeny Templeton's blog to read about upcoming contests;
however the weekly contests won't be announced at Designs by Gollum or on Facebook.
They'll crop up like mushrooms.
If you have any questions, I'll be in Italy with Henry,
er ...
I'll be in my writing corner with Teeny and her handsomer man, and I can barely keep up with their adventures in A Teeny Bit of Trouble.
Hope everyone is having a good week.
Thanks for visiting, and I'll see you at Foodie Friday.

I am loving Teeny's blog! I'm so glad she has one. I've loved yours for a very long time and I have to tell you I've learned so much from you and I'm enjoying your beautiful photos.
I would love to win one of the giveaways. I've wanted a Kindle for so long.

Teeny is so fun! What a great giveaway she's put together -- I would love to throw my hat in the ring....or on the table....or in the bag!
Just came from Teeny's centerpiece post. Love it! Can you make a dish closet happen here? ;-)
My dream is to have a butler's pantry with walls of cabinets that hold dishes, silver, textiles, etc. You get the picture. Wouldn't that be the best?
I share Sarah's dream, but it will never come true! This was our dream house, I got the 2 dishwashers and a short walk to the Bay, but not enough dish closets. You can never have enough dish closets!
Teeny is such a lucky girl to have that incredible notebook filled with wonderful ideas...and a dish closet, a vase room, etc. Maybe I should write too so I can have all these wonderful things...
My go-to centerpiece involves involves an old cheese box, shells, and candles.
Jane (artfully graced)
Did you hear me oooohhh and ahhhh when I saw those pictures of the centerpieces! Love them all! The red gingham check with the black-eyed susan's just made me smile! I love that summer look!
Beautiful!!

I'll always remember you saying you keep dishes behind your curtains. I'm not far off. Thank goodness for the basement. It just seems like such a waste to have all that beauty out of site. My dream is also for a butler's pantry or a dish room - - maybe when the kids move out something can be arranged.
Would LOVE to have a decent pantry!!
You just described one of my fantasies to a "T"....pun intended! I LOVE Rainbow Row (lived in Charleston for a few years and fell in love!) and I'm hoping that in the next hour my husband is coming home from the NATO office where he works with our American mail with YOUR BOOK!!! I can't wait to read the new one...and the next one ....and the next one.
I hope that you are great!
We're having a blast living in Italy! I'm hoping to post with some Italian formaggio/pane/vino/oleo/balsamico, etc. on Friday. Some days are hard, but mostly the adventure is just that...an adventure! You're still such an inspiration, though...even all the way in Italy!
Hugs/blessings,
Lana
I am really enjoying all things Teeny!
Thank you so much for the blog, the recipes and the chance to win the beach bag with goodies! Now, if you could just make all our dish pantry/room dreams come true - wouldn't that be wonderful, too?
Apparently I will be adding another blog to my reading list. Would I like to be a winner-YES. Thanks for being so generous. ♥♫
Thanks for letting me know that y'all are enjoying Teeny's blog.XX00
OH yes.. cannot wait to read on a Kindle Vol 2 of Teeny's escapades...
Great character & great chances to win!
I love the fantasy world you live in, Lady! :-) Fantastic ideas!
I've been out of commission for awhile & didn't even know Teeny HAD her own blog. Off to check it out now.
I am getting a little worried about this multiple personality thing you've got going on now. JK
Does that make 3 blogs you're running? Yikes!
Hugs,
Rett
Just came back from Teeny's blog & it is WONDERFUL!!!! HOW DO YOU DO IT ALL??????
Of course, I'm following her (you) there now, too. LOL
I just loved the photos SO much, ML. You make my eyes dance with joy when I visit.
fondly,
Rett
Teeny says she would love it if I won the Kindle and I promised her I would download her first!

I love the idea of the beach bag giveaway. How fun. Teeny's blog is really neat...what a cool way for Teeny to really come alive even more than she does in your awesome book. :-)
I must admit I am not as familar with Teeny as I am with Renata, but am planning on getting to know her much better. The idea of her having her own Blog is wonderful.
