Foodie Friday: Pairing Romantic Food and Films

Are you cooking anything special for Valentine's Day?
Let's play a game this Foodie Friday. Are you ready?
If you were going to pair a romantic menu with a movie, what would you pick?
Sleepless in Seattle would "go with" ______?
(Hmmm, I'm thinking grilled salmon with a mango salsa.)

It's Complicated would be complimented by _______ (chocolate scones)?
Annie Hall requires lobsters and la-di-das.

What's your favorite film for Valentine's Day?
Can you think of one that would work with cookies?

What a fun idea! My movie/food match up: Sabrina with croissants and champagne.

First time posting for FF. As you can tell, I have no idea what I'm doing. Loaded my pic, but I need to edit the name.

I would serve this rich, creamy and fabulous soup and watch "Sweet Home Alabama" with my sweetie.

Good evening Michael Lee,
With that beautiful arrangement of roses and a lovely tray of the delicious cookies, my "Honey" and I would be watching Dr. Zhivago. Thanks for hosting and have a great week end!

Those roses are literally picture perfect! Make me think of Sense & Sensibility, or a period film like that. Food to match? Cucumber tea sandwiches?

My movie would be "Say Anything" and I would serve hot buttered popcorn with it. One, because I love popcorn and two, because two hands reaching into a tub of popcorn together is romantic. Or at least in my buttery world it is.

Wow, just realized that Valentine's day is just around the corner. Thanks for the reminder.

Thanks for hosting Foodie Friday. I brought Toasted Pecans - a quintessential Southern cocktail nibble.

Hi Michael Lee, I could see Julia Roberts character in Pretty Woman, my fav, nibbling on one of these cookies as she soakes in the tub singing Prince's song. I love that scene. Actually there are so many great scenes on that movie. Gotta watch it again soon.

Mmm Pride and prejudice...paired with...not sure. I never can eat when I watch it I'm too consumed...I think it would have to be a traditional sticky date pudding.

This is my first time here. What a beautiful blog. For little private at-home dates, my husband and I like to watch sappy "Hallmark" movies that we have recorded. We make fun of a lot of them because they are so predictable, but we always come away feeling happy that life has worked out well in the story lines. Heart cookies are perfect for Hallmark movies. :)

It's Complicated for me goes with chocolate croissants. :) For cookies I would go with Simply Irresistible with Sarah Michelle Gellar. Sweet and Romantic.

The movie "Chocolat" with Johnny Depp and Juliette Binoche is a feast for the eyes. I would prepare a romantic dinner of Cocoa Rubbed Steaks with a Strawberry Spinach Salad topped w/ Chocolate Balsamic Dressing, & Chocolate Truffles for Dessert. A red wine with chocolate & cherry notes would wash down the meal and during the movie we could sip on a mug of spicy Mexican Hot Chocolate. Yum.
