The minute it began to snow, my husband got cabin fever.
We drove down the curvy road to Publix. To my surprise, the parking lot wasn't jammed with snow-panicked people.
I didn't think to take pictures until Dr. Big and I were loading up the groceries. I whipped out my trusty iPhone just as the snow pelted my sweetheart.
The booty isn't terribly exciting: frozen low carb egg things, pork rinds, olives, dill pickle relish, ground sirloin (for tomorrow), watermelon, cantaloupe, diet drinks, Bandy's beer, tomatoes, coffee cream, shrimp, and low carb chocolate peanut butter ice cream
(158 calories per CARTON--that's right! The main ingredient is water, but I don't care. And I take back my statement--the ice cream is exciting).

Tonight we're cooking boiled shrimp and deviled (farm) eggs.
The healthy "sides" include salad, sliced avocados, and fruit.
So far, Dr. Big has lost 11 pounds. At this rate, he won't be big for long.
Me, I've lost a measly 5.
If we two over-the-hill foodies can do some cardio exercise without having to call 911, we'll be happy.
When we got home, Mister ran out to greet us. He feels much better. While we unloaded the groceries, he enjoyed the snow-for about twenty seconds.
Then he was ready to go inside and prepare for Foodie Friday.
Meanwhile, the snow kept falling on Bald Hill.
How is the weather in your part of the world?

We're supposed to get snow tonight...I hope not too much! Thanks so much for hosting and great job on the weight loss!
I always load up on the necessities when I know we are going to get a big snow.(which is predicted for tonight and tomorrow) Things like Tide, toilet tissue, Caffeine free Diet Pepsi, etc. We are also trying to lose some weight here. So far-not bad. Men always lose weight easier and quicker than we do. Enjoy your snow.
It snowed here during the night and most of the day. I didn't cook a thing. The painters were here filling the house with primer fumes most of the day...no appetite! However, Sunday I made Angel Chicken and during the week I wrote of Tangerine.
Stay warm, ladies! xx
The weather here is similar! Winter storm warnings and lots of snow coming down.
We had stuffed pepper soup - yummy and perfect for a cold night.
Well you go girl! 5 Lbs. is great! Men ALWAYS lose faster, darnit! We had what my hubby called" Italian Split Pea Soup" that he cooked. He added Italian stewed tomatoes and sweet Italian sausage. It was DELISH, but I didn't take any pics! I'll take pics of the leftovers and post it next week. My brain is on OVERLOAD right now! XO, Pinky
Yes, why is it men can lose so much easier than women! I have always hated that. Thanks for hosting! Stay warm.

Thanks for hosting!
ML, that was snow? It looks like a little slush to me, Lol!
But I know you are in the South, so I guess it counts! :)
Here on L.I., we have had NO snow, and as we are more than a third through Jan., I am very happy. Last year we were many inches under by now.
Do share the name of that ice cream, a whole container, that sounds great!
You, over the hill? I think not!
Thanks for hosting!
Hi! Thanks for hosting. I have brought Doughnut Snowmen and I just realized I think I have it spelled wrong. Oh well. We are suppose to get 2 to 4 inches of snow here in Indiana. Pat
I am so glad to see that your adorable doggie is feeling better. Great that you and your husband both lost weight. We had snow in late October but nothing since. I don't miss it. I made yellow split pea soup with the leftover ham bone from Christmas which I had froze, but silly me didn't take photos. xo
I have been celebrating the 1 year anniversary of Full Plate Thursday today, we have all had so much fun. It is in the low 20's here but with the wind chill coming of the lake it is like 12 degrees. A great night to stay inside and have some of that great Dilly Bread that I am sharing with everyone today. Thanks for hosting and keep you and those little babies warm. Have a great week end!

No snow here, but it's supposed to be in the 20s tonight. Caught me off guard. It was near 80 yesterday. Only in TX!
Love your sense of humor, Michael Lee. Looking forward to the book release. I'm ready to read! ~ Sarah
It is snowing now and cold. Our hot one dish dinner I'm sharing hit the spot.
Love your photos and it sounds like a great meal. Your hubs looks like he is enjoying the snow. Mister is adorable.
Happy New Year,
Jeanne
We're supposed to get snow squalls tonight which makes driving dangerous. We're going to hunker down and make salmon for dinner :-) Thanks so much for hosting and great job on the weight loss! I hope everyone stays warm, and that you tell us the brand of that ice cream!
I wish it was snowing here! It has been 90 degrees here in Brisbane, Australia and I am sick of summer! Please send me some cold weather!!
Best wishes and thanks for having me,
Natasha.
We're on a 2 hour delay this morning thanks to the snow, which is why I'm blog reading before work!! I recommend "Fit Day" app for calorie counting - I've lost 20 pounds! And "Barefoot Cardio" I feel like I get a good workout, but it's not too strenuous, I can still do it after work without dying.
We haven't had a lick of snow since that freak storm in October. I have just the opposite dog problem from yours.... I have a St Bernard who is moaning that there is no snow... feels rotten about it. You should have seen her last year up to her neck in the white stuff... she was in heaven.
Good for you to diet and lose weight. I really must try to lose a few pounds myself... too bad so many recipes are so fattening!
We had snow Wednesday evening and (of course!) my husband and I desperately wanted Thai food. So we went out in the snow to get it! There were only three other people in the restaurant. It was totally worth the effort though!
Thanks for hosting--I've linked my Filets de poisson cardinal, my Shrimp and Dill Soup and the perfect Scandinavian dinner for a snowy night to go with the movie Queen Christina.
We so need to do low carb again. I am in such a habit of high carb comfort foods, have accepted being a size 14 but I sure don't want to be a 16!!! We had a skirt of snow but the wind and cold was brutal yesterday! Love FoodieFriday...have a great weekend sweetie!
We got our first significant snow fall of this winter yesterday - about 6 inches. It's very pretty in the sunshine this morning but I was really enjoying the 55 degrees the day before!
So glad to hear Mister is feeling better and you made it home safely with all of that loot :)
My daughter was flying into Atlanta yesterday and she said the last 15 minutes were horrible. Very turbulent. Come to find out it was because of the snow coming in!! HA! She is heading for Australia where it is summer time ;-)

I'll look up the "Barefoot Cardio, Pam. Thanks!
The ice cream's brand is Arctic Zero. We found it at Publix (chocolate peanut butter, strawberry, chocolate, vanilla). According to the label, the ice "cream" is low cal, low carb and gluten free (158 calories in a PINT. Yep.)
Started snowing in Chicago around 9am. The travel home from work took longer than usual. The ride into work still not great. I am thinking going home should be better. Looks like you are doing great with the diet. Keep up the good work! Have a great weekend.....stay warm:)
Thanks for hosting another awesome week. I'm sharing a recipe for a curried lentil soup with raita.
Thanks for hosting and sharing photos of snow. It's cold here (well, cold for this area -- low 30s). I see a lot of soup recipes! :)
Congrats on the 5 lbs! I'm going through it myself right now and I know all too well how "measly" a small loss can feel - but every little bit helps!
I wish we'd get some snow here. It's freeeeezing cold but not a flake to be found. :(
Thanks for hosting! We had our first snow of the year 2 days ago. It's pretty ... as long as it doesn't stick around too long.
