Foodie Friday

Foodie Friday
October 5, 2012
It's cookie season at Rattlebridge Farm.
I have limited skills with icing, but that doesn't stop me from opening the deep drawer where I keep my cookie cutters. A few years ago, I bought a set of "autumn" cutters. .

I bought the decorative items online and the local Publix Grocery.

Of course, cookie baking often leads to decorating.
Even the statues are adorned with some type of frippery.
What else has been going on at Rattlebridge Farm?
I've been walking around the pasture, enjoying the colorful leaves and the nippy morning air. In the evening, I smell the faint tinge of woodsmoke, a sign that autumn has arrived in the mountains.
The big event at Rattlebridge: my husband and I will celebrate our 34th wedding anniversary later this month.

Thanks for stopping by Rattlebridge.
It is always a joy to read your messages and to see your recipes.

If you are participating in this week's recipe party,
a Foodie Friday button is available on the sidebar. Just cut-and-paste the code if you'd like to add the button to your post.

To add your recipe to the Foodie Friday linky party, look below for the blue Inlinkz frog (below). Add your permalink and select an image. It may take a few seconds for the entry to process. A red X on your photo allows you to delete your entry if you make an error. The Foodie Friday badge (or button--look for a picture of white cupcakes) is located on the right sidebar if you wish to add it to your FF post. If this is your first time to participate in Foodie Friday, a tutorial is available.

  1. Hello Michael: Thank you so much for hosting the party for us today. Your cookies look wonderful, and I love your mirror and statue in your final photo of this post--lovely! I had the good intention this morning of putting away a favorite dish, only to topple a stack of dishes and break 5--not an auspicious start to the day. On the bright side, I guess I get to shop for some new plates now :)

  2. Oh, no! I'm so sorry about the favorite dish. I've had that happen, and it's not a great way to start--or end--a day, is it? I hope you have a wonderful time shopping. Let us know what you found (dish addicts always want to know these things).

  9. Happy Anniversary!!
The weather has been wonderful. Have not seen any colorful leaves here just yet. It has been so dry this year, it is hard to say if there will be much color. Not looking forward to the cold front and rain on Saturday.
    Enjoy your evening.

  12. I love the cookies! I'm not one to decorate with icing & do all the fancy stuff but I think it's fun to decorate them however I can. :)

Your pumpkin photo is so pretty. I guess I'm going straight to Halloween as I haven't put out much fall decor yet.

Thanks for hosting! I hope you're enjoying the cooler temps...it finally has cooled down here.

  15. Happy 34th, I hope you enjoy your time together. But, alas, I am sorry to read that you're working on what will be the last Teeny novel. I'm anxious to read it, of course, and will console myself with the knowledge that there is something new on the horizon.

  20. I’m sharing recipes I am making with what’s coming out of the garden. We just had our first frost so the acorn squash are curing getting ready to be stored. I love stuffing them and I shared a recipe I concocted using the wild rice my sister sends me from the Canadian border.

Also a recipe for stuffed tomatoes. This is a wonderful brunch or side dish recipe. Tons of flavor and a way to celebrate farm fresh eggs and tomatoes!
    Thanks for hosting!

I also host a link party called Eat Make Grow where folks can share their DIY projects, recipes and garden strategies. I hope you’ll come share with us too!

Stop on by if you get the chance:
