Foodie Friday -- February 22

There's nothing like a grilled burger in the wintertime. Luckily we had a few sunny days, and we fired up the Weber. I'm glad we did. The weather promises to turn foul this evening. My thoughts are with all of you who received the brunt of the snowstorm. Stay warm!

Last Sunday, the weather was a bit nippy so I stayed indoors, except for a quick trip to the grocery. I bought a raspberry coffee cake and embellished it--the exhaused way. However, I made the mistake of eating a huge slice while I watched Downton Abbey's finale. I won't give any spoilers, but I was just sick.

I'm posting Foodie Friday a little early. I'm still touring with Hunting Daylight, and I'm being interviewed by the Hugo Award winning magazine, SF Signal. Very excited!

Thanks to everyone who has offered advice about the renovation. So many great ideas!

And now, let's talk about food and your recipes. What are you bringing to the linky party?

Foodie Friday is a weekly blog hop party that's been around for almost 4 years. Everyone is welcome here. I can't wait to see what you've cooked this week--and thank you so much for being a part of the linky party! If you'd like to add your recipe, locate the blue Inlinkz frog (below, left); add your permalink and select an image. It may take a few seconds for the entry to process. The red "X" will allow you to delete your entry if you want to change the image or headline. The Foodie Friday badge is located on the right-hand sidebar if you wish to add it to your FF post. If this is your first time to participate in Foodie Friday, a tutorial is available.

If you will allow your photos to be featured on my public Facebook page, Pinterest, or Twitter (with a link to your blog post), please leave a message; if you do not want your photographs used in the spotlight, please let me know about that, too. "Pinners" please go to the source blog to pin and credit the blogger/photographer for their work. Thanks!

I don't come to your party much because I'm just a simple cook but thought I'd share my meringue! :)

  9. You are right about burgers and I have to say I too was so upset about the most recent ending of Downton Abbey. Good Luck on your book tour and like everyone else, can't wait to read you latest book.

  10. Sounds like you are going to get the weather that came thru here earlier today. Cold and wet is not a good combination.:/ The burger and cake looks so good - I am past due for a good grilled burger, hot dog or smoked sausage. I do have to spurge once in a while.:)
I am of no help in your renovation, but have really enjoyed reading your posts and seeing what you have done.
Sounds like you are really busy with your writing - Congratulations!
    Looking forward to Spring.

  14. Thank you for hosting. This is my first time linking. I want to comment that I am happy you set your program to change colors after I check out a link; without that I could not remember what I read and what I have not had time to review - so thank you.

  20. Hi Michael Lee! I just love stopping at your blog. Your photos are always amazing! As far as the weather goes...yesterday we got about 5 or 6 inches of snow mixed with sleet. Fortunately, I didn't have to leave the house, so I watched the beauty of nature turn everything into a white wonderland! Have a blissful weekend!

  21. Today is quite gray and chilly here - rain is in the forecast all day - staying indoors, cooking, crafting...reading. We just became fans of Downton Abbey - haven't seen Season 3 - intrigued. Stay warm and safe. I do appreciate you hosting!

  23. Your website is beautiful!! I just came across it today. I'd love if you could feature my baby food recipe. http://www.allthingswithpurpose.com/2012/05/least-expensive-stage-1-2-baby-food.html I used it for all three of my kids and it was so incredibly convenient. Basically, you use your bottles and don't buy those really expensive pouches at the store. I was very disappointed with Downton. My faith was restored slightly when I found out both Sybil and Matthew wanted to be released from the show to do other acting. I am not sure what they were thinking!!

  29. The Downton Abby finale made me sick also. I just watched it yesterday afternoon and I think it will be my last episode. I deleted it from my DVR recordings. I made it through all that WWI horror and now this?!
