Foodie Friday and Everything Else

Welcome to Foodie Friday and Everything Else--so glad you're here.Has it been chilly in your neck of the woods? We've had temps in the 50s, sweater weather, the kind that makes me want to huddle in plaid blankets and drink hot tea. I managed to work on the kitchen a little.

I'd hung a few paintings...

but I moved them when I found an old pegged rack that had once been part of a bed. I used it to hang aprons.

Another tiny wall in the breakfast nook felt off somehow (you know how that is).

You may remember the mirrors I used in the Georgian's bathroom? I got a mirror out of storage and added the antlers. I'm auditioning it for now, cobwebs and all.

Sometimes it takes a while to decide if a piece works or not, right? I like how the mirror bounces light and expands the view, but time will tell, I guess. Any ideas?

Last week's party was unusually amazing. Here are a few highlights:

Calypso in the Country shared her favorite storage bins:

  3. Michael Lee, I'm lovin' your pegged rack adorned with aprons over your cute red stool! I like your mirror with your antler addition too! I'm currently auditioning plants in pots in a new garden bed by my Potting Shed before we plant them. It's cool and wet here but we need the rain and good gardening weather so I can't complain. Thanks for the Foodie Fun this week. ♥

  5. I'm loving your beautiful hutch filled with white ironstone, Michael Lee! What a wonderful piece that is in your kitchen. The pegged rack is perfect for hanging aprons, and the mirror with the antlers looks great and yes, reflects the light so nicely. It's been chilly here in Texas, too, with gloomy skies and rain. I'm prepared for the heat, though, and had to get a new A/C unit installed today $$$. Ugh! Thanks for hosting and the features are great!

  14. Michael Lee, I think the mirror on that small wall is perfect! And yes, I know what you mean when a space is off. I like the kitchen apron nook too. Have a wonderful weekend. It has been chilly here too, but it was a nice little break for me from working almost a week straight in the garden. Break's over! Thank you for having us here.

  21. I like the fun mirror and the basket under it which appears to be on an old wooden apple crate. It gives a lot of personality to that area.

  23. You rarely go wrong with a mirror(s) in a room - yours looks great. The antler is real different on the mirror and makes the piece. I agree with another poster - not sure about the basket below. Maybe a small ottoman with a neat print? Or even a footstool . . . or just leave the mirror and nothing else. You have a beautiful home!

  24. I love the hanging aprons! I've been in my house a year and I still have empty walls - I haven't committed to hammering in that nail, you know how it is! Your house is so lovely!

  25. Hi. We've got the crazy spring weather here, but it's usually sunny at least part of the day - as in maybe for 10 minutes 15 different times. About the mirror... personally, I think it adds a heaviness to that space. Maybe paint it a light color?

  26. I love that mirror there with the antlers. I also see that when you put the rack on the wall for the aprons, you moved the artwork next to the hutch. I LOVE an open hutch and wish I had one. Thanks for the party. I am VERY late but made it:) Have a beautiful weekend.
