Foodie Friday and Everything Else

It's party time at Rattlebridge Farm. I'm glad you're here.
A week ago, many of us were bracing for a snowstorm. In our neck of the woods, we didn't get too much ice--just fluffy, wet (and very deep) snow. As many of you know, I am not a fan of ice (or falling on the ice), but I worked up my nerve and trudged outside.

Before It Melted

I love how snow transforms the ordinary world. I couldn't stay inside another second. I put on boots and a heavy coat and walked around the yard. I could see the bones of my garden, and I wondered how many secrets it would reveal. What would bloom and when?

Quest for Fire

I have a weakness for dark chocolate, blue-eyed men, and fireplaces. In a perfect world, I'd have all three: I'd sit in the lap of a gorgeous blue-eyed guy (think Henry Cavill), and he'd feed me bits of Godiva salted dark chocolate while a fire snapped in the background.  As it happened, all I got was the chocolate.

A Winter Snow Storm

I can't say that it was unexpected. Every news channel had reported the same thing: Something cold and wicked this way comes. Two, maybe four, inches of snow were predicted for my neck of the woods. I stocked up on groceries, same as everyone else in town, and bought extra bird seed. By mid-morning, seven inches of snow had fallen on the hilltop.

Foodie Friday and Everything Else

A winter storm is bearing down on many parts of the country, and to stay calm, my thoughts are turning to warm food and comfort. You'll find plenty of ideas at the Foodie Friday and Everything Else Linky Party.  So glad you're here.

It's my favorite time of the week, time for Foodie Friday and Everything Else.
