Annual Scottish Terrier Picnic and Fun Day

Every June, an extraordinary event happens in my neck of the woods. The Scottish Terrier Rescue of Tennessee hosts a picnic and silent auction at the local fairground. The magic begins with a Scottie march and bagpipes, followed by a potluck and silent auction.

After touring a darlingScottie-themed camper, I met dozens and dozens of Scotties.

After the picnic, a touching memorial honored all Scotties who had passed away last year. Their names were called one by one. Not a dry eye could be found as the Rainbow Bridge poem was read.

Later, after a Scottie rescue parade, the silent auction began.

I'll return with a tour of the wee Scottish camper, along with puppy news.

  10. Love the post and love Scotties. I currently have two Scotties, Beau (4yrs) & Buddy (10 months). Our old boy, Barney, went to the Rainbow Bridge in February. I lived in Middle TN for 5 years and would have loved to participate in this special event. Could you please provide more information about the event. Scotties rule!
