Beginner's Guide to Joyful Living: Day 2

July 2, 2017:
A One-Minute Inspiration for busy women.
How do you define yourself? Blogger? A writer? Artist? Photographer? Musician? Baker?
Blogging/writing/baking are vocations and avocations. Titles. One note, short-hand descriptions.
But we are so much more. Inside, we are filled with mysteries and magic.

You are greater than the sum of your parts.

  1. So true - we're all filled with mysteries and magic. I spent a weekend with HS girlfriends recently, all of whom I was not particularly close to then, or even now. It was a wonderful weekend of getting to know each other in the now, and exceeded my expectations for its outcome (I was ambivalent about going). We each brought show and tell to get reacquainted. I took my 2016 annual blog book I compiled, simply because it captures all the things I'm 'doing' in retirement. I also gifted each gal a humble little lavender sachet made from my garden harvest and collected vintage linens. I feel like we each went away with the possibility of having a brand new circle of [potentially] really good friends as we trod through these next years of our lives - a new decade - certain to bring about many life changes and, possibly, confidantes to share a little of our magic with.

  2. I loved reading about your reunion. Giving back...a gift that gives for its own sake, sharing magic, as with your lavender and blog book (I made dog books to donate at the Scottie picnic).

  4. Who am I? A mess LOL! If any one of my readers could see me as I am inside, I think they'd wonder about my sanity. God knows my mother does ;)

Seriously though, I'm just a girl that tries to be happy and looks for it as much as she can. That's all any of us can ask for :)

  5. I know I've read this one, but don't see my comment. As I said I'm working my way backwards tonight to catch up and to take this all in again. Love the thought of being filled with mystery and magic!

  7. I don't feel so mysterious or magical but I do love that Maya Angelou quote. :)

  8. I love this! And it is true, we call ourselves Bloggers but we forget that it really is just something (and just one of the things) we do!
