Winter Notebook

The past few years, I've made an effort to find the beauty in winter. I bought a bird ID book and began keeping a Life List. I also participated in the nationwide count.

The cold, dark days of winter can be a challenge. Rewire your brain by getting out into the great outdoors.

Scenes from the Winter of 2016
We hadn't seen a deep, old fashioned snow in years, and I enjoyed every moment. I couldn't stay indoors: I put on my Wellies and trudged outside, joyfully refilling the bird feeders.

A most unusual tablescape.
